In 2017, I received my first basic pyrography tool and took to hand burning various decorations, a little wooden suitcase for Pelucchi’s Firefighter uniforms and a gifts for family members.

After a while I upgraded my pyrography tool and continued with gifts for family members along with a few decorations to help with fundraising projects along with learning about the different woods available for pyrography.

In 2020 creation took hold and alongside my small pyrography pieces I decided to try a dog portrait for a friend, which was received excitedly. Since then I have completed 10 more dog portraits along with 4 portraits of my own dogs.

All have been very positively and enthusiastically received. I have even completed a couple of human portraits although the subject for both was the very much loved and missed “Old Woman” my late Grandmother.

The feedback has been 100% positive and I have been urged to offer my talents on our website. My experience of working with dogs throughout my life has highlighted my understanding that every dog has their own character which I do try to capture within their portrait. Depending on the facial markings each portrait has its own time frame but generally have a burn time of around 25 hours.
